Question: Are we under the Law today?

Thought: If we are under the Law, what is the Law, and what do we do if we

break the law?

Reference: We at Grace Bible Study use on the King James Bible.

I. What was the Law given for?

A. Galatians 3:24 A school master

B. Romans 3:19 To make every mouth stop-guilty before God.

C. Romans 5:20 That the offence might abound.

II. Was there a law given that would give Eternal Life?

A. Galatians 3:21 Righteousness didn't come by the Law

B. Romans 3:28 Justification without the deeds of the Law

C. Romans 5:18 Justification of Life without the Law

III. What does the Law produce?

A. I John 3:4 Transgression of the Law is sin

B. Romans 4:15 The law worketh wrath

C. Romans 3:20 By the Law is the Knowledge of Sin

IV. If you offend in one point of the Law, are you guilty of all?

A. James 2:10 Yes, we are guilty.

B. Galatians 3:10 Cursed

NOTE: Galatians 3:13 Christ redeemed people from the curse of the law.

How? Christ hung on the tree(cross).

C. Romans 3:23 All have sinned, then all have broken the Law.

D. Romans 6:23 If all are guilty must we die?

V. Why did Christ die?

A. II Corinthians 5:20 That we could be made the Righteousness of God in Him.

B. Matthew 5:17 Christ fulfilled the Law

C. Galatians 2:19 Through the Law the Believer is Dead to the Law.

D. II Corinthians 5:20 Christ was made sin for us(He became the transgressor for us)

E. Romans 4:25 Christ was raised for our justification

VI. What are the conclusions we must come to about the law?

A. Romans 2:13 Hearing the Law will not justify you.

B. Philippians 3:5-6 Knowing the Law will not justify you.

C. Matthew 23:5 Saying the Law will not justify you.

NOTE: Doing the Law would be justification-but it was proven none did.

Romans 3:9

VII. We are not to frustrate the Grace of God with the works of the Law.

A. Galatians 2:21 Righteousness not by the Law.

B. Romans 3:21 BUT NOW, righteousness without the Law.

C. Romans 4:15 No Law-No Transgression

D. Romans 5:13 No Law-Sin not Imputed

E. Galatians 3:10-13 No Law-No Curse

F. Romans 4:15 No Law-No Wrath

G. Romans 6:23 No Law-No Death I Thessalonians 4:17

VIII. A major conclusion about the Law is:

The Righteousness of the Law is fulfilled in the us who believe-Not by us(our works are short of the Glory of God). Romans 3:23

A person that can trust that God will not impute sin is Blessed.
